Should Indigenous Peoples' Day Be A Replacement For Columbus Day?

Columbus Day is a federal holiday celebrated second Monday in October marking the anniversary of Christopher Columbus' arrival in the Americas on October 12, 1492. It first became a state holiday in Colorado in 1906 but has been celebrated unofficially for years before. There has been opposition to the holiday as many argue that we shouldn't honor Columbus's and Europeans' actions against the indigenous populations of the Americas.
